At the Annual Meeting on May 15, The Patapsco Heritage Greenway elected four new members to its Board of Directors: Chris Gallant, Marsha McLaughlin, David Shackelford and James Wagandt
Chris Gallant is President and CEO of Alternative Capital Funding, which specializes in commercial real estate financing as well as other financing categories. Chris holds an MBA (Cum Laude) from Pepperdine University, CA. He currently serves on the Advisory Committee on Tourism and Director of the Maryland Tourism Board and as Vice Chair of the Maryland Industrial Development Financial Authority. Chris is a member of the Northern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce. Chris resides with his family in Columbia.
Marsha S. Mclaughlin retired in 2015 as the Director of the Department of Planning and Zoning for Howard County. She holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts and has broad expertise in planning and design. She has taught graduate school courses in landscape architecture, planning and land-use law and is a frequent program presenter to student, professional and community organizations. Marsha McLaughlin resides in Baltimore County
Dave Shackelford is the Chief Curator of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum where he manages the daily operations including oversight of the museum’s locomotive restoration efforts. He also serves as the Director of Mount Clare Museum House, Baltimore’s oldest house museum. Dave began his career at the Ellicott City B&O Railroad Station Museum. He is an active member of the American Alliance of Museums, Past-President of the Maryland National Road Association, and author of two books: A Journey from Roads to Rails that focuses on the development of transportation in Maryland between 1800 and 1860; and The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in Maryland.
James Wagandt is a Vice President of the Oella Company and specializes in renovations and remodeling of historic properties. James is an active member of the Oella HOA and serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum (BBHPM) and Chair of the Master Plan Revision Committee. Volunteer activities for 2015-2016 include building and installation of “Little Free Library” in Oella, maintaining the Oella Mill Race Trail and leading volunteer days at BBHPM.
